soul poetry: sigh no more

Music is my soul’s poetry. I’m sure of it. Whenever I hear a song that affects me I have to stop whatever I’m doing. There are songs that I feel speak exactly what my heart wants to cry out. Words are put to my thoughts and emotions. It’s a crazy and beautiful thing to experience.

This song continues to haunt me, sometimes to cause me to feel the sadness that I have buried, other times to give me hope. No matter where I am, or what I’m doing, when I hear this song I stop, close my eyes and just listen to the words. Each and every lyric is truth to me. I love it!

Serve God, love me and mend
This is not the end
Live unbruised, we are friends
And I’m sorry
I’m sorry

Sigh no more, no more
One foot in sea, one on shore
My heart was never pure
You know me
You know me

But man is a giddy thing
Oh man is a giddy thing
Oh man is a giddy thing
Oh man is a giddy thing

Love; it will not betray you
Dismay or enslave you, it will set you free
Be more like the man you were made to be

There is a desire, an alignment, a cry
Of my heart to see,
The beauty of love as it was made to be
